How to Care for Your Diamond
Caring for a diamond takes more than
occasional cleanings. Diamonds are forever,
but they can be damaged if you are not
careful. By learning how to properly care for
your diamond, you will ensure that your
diamond is indeed forever.
First, you should take your diamond jewelry
to a jeweler once a year. Have him check the
mountings and prongs that hold your
diamond in place. Have him make any
needed repairs. This will prevent your
diamond from falling out of its setting and
becoming lost.
Diamond jewelry that is not being worn, or
diamonds that are loose should be stored in
a fabric lined jewel case, or in a jewelry box
where it can be kept separate from other
jewelry. Each piece should have its own
compartment. This will keep diamonds from
becoming scratched, and it will also keep
your diamond from scratching other jewelry
as well.
Remove your diamond jewelry when doing
physical work. Diamonds can be chipped
and scratched easily. Also avoid allowing
your diamond to come into contact with
bleach or other household cleansers – this
can damage or change the color of the
settings and mountings, and it may even
irreversibly change the color of the
diamond!

All About the Clarity of Diamonds
One important aspect of a diamond is its Clarity. Here are some simple and inportant tips to know how as to grade the clarity of a diamond before we purchase one. It is
actually quite easy to learn how to grade the clarity of a diamond. There are basically two things that we must take note and understand. Diamonds with visual inclusions and blemishes, and those that are ‘eye clean’ meaning that there are no inclusions or blemishes that can be seen with the naked eye. From there, the clarity of a diamond is further broken down into subcategories.
Many people are untrained about this gem and mistakenly think that diamond
clarity refers to how clear it is. This is not the case. Clarity actually refers to the internal and external imperfections of the diamond. The best diamonds, of course get a grade of FL or IF – Flawless or Internally Flawless – meaning that it is perfect. A grade of I-1, I-2 or I-3 means that the diamond is imperfect, with a grade of I-3 being the worst.
Other grades are VVS1 and VVS2, which means that the diamond is very, very slightly
imperfect; VS1 and VS2, meaning the diamond is very slightly imperfect; SI-1 and
SI-2, which means that the diamond is slightly imperfect. These are some of the simple rules about this precious gem. Remember good ones are really expensive.

About Diamond Carat Weights
Today I am going to talk about Diamonds, the lady's best friend. Diamonds are sold and measured in Carat Weight. One carat weighs 200 milligrams. Therefore, if a diamond is referred to as four grains, this also means that it is a one carat diamond. The word Carat originated from the term carob, a type of beans that grows on a tree in the Mediterranean. In ancient days, if a diamond weighed the same as a carob bean, it was one carob, or one carat.
Carob tree do not flourish in the far east, where Carob trees do not grow therefore, rice was used to measure the weight of a diamond. If a diamond weighed as much as four grains of rice, it was four grains – or one carat as we know it to be now. The majority of diamond purchases are for diamonds that are 1/3 of a carat.
Extra care should be taken when shopping for diamonds that are already set or mounted. If more than one diamond is used in the piece, the tag on the jewelry will give the CTW or Carat Total Weight – it does not tell you the carat weight of each stone in the piece. You need to ask the jeweler for the total carat weight of the largest diamond in the piece to truly understand what you are buying. Lastly, always buy from a reliable and reputable dealer which come with a certification of description and authenicity.

Crystal Gemstones As Healing Jewelry
Beside being ornamental gemstones jewelry can effective be used as a healing crystal. While wearing your crystals, the crystal vibrations work continuously on your body energy imbalances.
The healing process among other things depend on the degree of our commitment to the crystal. Just let the gemstones crystal do the work for us. It is suggested to wear one crystal stones at any one time if we are new to crystal healing. A number of users felt the some distracting effects. The duration to achieve the desired effects will depend on the quality of the stone like colour, carat size, source of the mine, location of wear, duration, types and suitability of the crystal to our healing. Certain crystals are more suitable for healing the root cause of the symptoms than to just treating superficial symptoms or diseases. When selecting the crystal one must honestly intentioned it so that the actual problem could be solved.
First Step Is To cleanse The Crystal
There are various methods of cleansing. I usually adopt physical cleansing of my newly acquired crystal stones by using water. I use a soft brush to scrub the surface including the nooks and crevices of my rough crystal with a mild detergent to remove whatever residual or physical impurities like grease and dirt from the mine. But for jewelry I just use a mild detergent. Than I dried and expose it to the morning sunray for about an hour. Later I just move it above some frankincense smoke. This is my personal 3 cleansing method. Reason being gemstones tend to absorb whatever energy that it has gone through during the transit from the mine until it reaches my collection.
It takes about 3 days to a week for the crystal to make tremendous adjustments within my energy field, connecting and matching the matrix of my energy fields to a larger outer cosmic vibration which will be utilised in my healing process.
It takes about 21 days for the crystal for this process to be initiated and completed. This is also the time period required for blockages of energy that are causing the imbalance are eradicated from the body system.
Sometimes a healing crisis occurs at this point, during the early days of wearing the crystal. Remember, resolving the inner conflict may take time and that crystals accelerate the change process. Allow these processes to occur without interruption, by continuously wearing the stone or crystal until you complete the next two steps.
It is a good idea to cleanse your crystal every week and to recharge it in the morning sunlight for at least a few hours weekly through out the healing process.
The second stage is Integrating and Harmonising
It is pertaining to changes within my whole being. I may experience physical and emotional changes in either of the first or second stages as alignment is occurring to my physical, emotion, mental and spiritual energies. The changes may be caused by toxins being discharged from the negative energies during the cleansing process which continues throughout the healing cycle.
About 4 weeks from wearing the crystal gemstone, I usually notice that in my facial expression appearance for what is occurring within my being. My mental outlook, feelings, thoughts, and even outlooks may greatly changed. All aspects of my energy will be activated and the result is a very positive soothing feeling.
Last Stage - Stabilisation Process
About 3 to 4 months later with regular wearing of the gemstones stones or natural crystals, I felt stability within my being achieved. From this point onward, there is no turning back.
When I remove my crystal I may feel a desperate need to put it back again. I can test out the stability by removing your crystals from time to time. By this time, I am close to stabilizing the energy changes.
The above are some hints on crystal healing.

Gemstones Appreciation

Today I am going to talk about gems, in particular, the quality of gemstones. Since good quality gems stock are becoming rarer due to intensive mining by individuals and mining companies the price has escalated to surpass the tag for an average diamond. Basically the same criteria of gauging diamond is applicable to gemstones appreciation. They are the 4 Cs which include colour, cutting, clarity and carat. Colour refer to the colour richness and intensity. Good cutting craftmanship bring out the lustre and dazzle of the indidual stones. Stone of similar cutting, colour and clarity cost more if it is bigger in size and heavier in weight.
